Driving courses for senior citizens

Postby Holps32 » Mon Feb 08, 2010 5:39 am

Are there any driving courses for senior citizens available in the Chicago area that are free of charge. I am looking to sign my 75 year old uncle to one of these classes and I am hopping I can find a course that is free of charge. I think every elder needs to take one if they are really looking to drive their car in a safe manner.

Try contacting a retirement center close to your location. I am sure they would know more about this than anyone on this forum.

No offense but at 75 years old, I would suggest you look into forms of public transportation for your uncle. I think everyone would be much safer including your uncle.

I have to agree with volvolvr7 on this one.
My grandpa got involved in a really bad car accident last year (his fault) that made us wish he stopped driving a long time ago.
It is usually not an easy conversation to have with an elderly, but we must do whats best for them and others around them.
