Traffic school for cell phone ticket in San Diego

My son just got a ticket for being on his cell phone while driving his car. Does anyone know if the courts would allow him to go to a traffic school in order to get this off of his record? Seeing his insurance go up the roof is the last thing on my list that I want to worry about.

yeah he should be able to go to a traffic school as long as he hasn't completed one in the last 18 months.

Yeah you should be able to take care of the points on your driving record if you complete your traffic school. Online traffic schools are pretty easy and cheap these days. Get it over with at no time and invest $20 and buy yourself a hands-free set for your cell phone so you won't get in trouble next time specially since the price of your fine could double. It is also a lot safer for you and the people around you while you are driving.

With so many COOL Californians talking on their cell phones while driving, I am really surprised on why the fine is so low - Specially now since California needs the money so badly!

It isn't $20, with all of the fees and what-not I had to pay $142. You don't get a point for talking on your cell so don't got to traffic school. If your son gets a ticket that will earn him a point in the next 18 months then he won't be able to go to school again to get rid of the point.
