How can I contact the police after a traffic ticket?

I was pulled over last night in San Diego California for a minor fix it ticket. I believe the citing officer has accidentally kept my drivers license since I can not find it now. What would be the best way for me to contact him?

You could just call the police department and ask to speak to him. Most likely you would have to leave him a message since they are out on the field most of the time but he should return your call in a day or two.

You can look up the police station number which should be listed on the ticket. The officer usually writes down their name on the ticket as well. So when you call up the police station, ask to speak with the police officer. Even better, try to speak to the guy and see if you can get the ticket dismissed. Police officers aren't too unreasonable, after all, they are humans right?
