What is the law in regard to tinted front windows

I live in Los Angeles and got pulled over last night for having my front windows tinted. I explained to the police officer that I had just purchased the car brand new from the dealership and this was the way the car was delivered to me. He said that I should remove the tints and show the car to a law enforcement officer if I don’t want this on my record. What is the law in California when it comes to having tints on a front window?

You can not have any kind of tint on your front windows in California. Cops are more flexible these days compared to 5 years ago but they could pull you over and even a give you a fix it citation if they feel like it.

Remove them first and get your fix it ticket taken care of first. You can then try to tint the windows in a light shade and try to roll up the front windows when you see a police officer around you.

Cali is extremely strict when it comes to tinted windows. It doesn't help if your car is flashy either. I should know since I drive a typical "rice rocket", honda civic lowered with rims. Police pull me over ALL THE TIME. The police office pulls me over so much, I address him by his first name and ask him how his family is doing. Cops love to give these tickets and if you have anything else illegal, they'll pile up other violations and can tow your car if they want to be a jackass. Get it fixed immediately, or you'll regret it later.

Just remove the tint like now. You don't want to take any more risks like that have a tinted window. My brother and his friends get tickets frequently for tinted winshields. Play if safe, because the tickets will start piling up and once they do, at a certain point they will take away your car and give you a strict penalty for not obeying rules.

In California you are not allowed to have any kind of tint even the lightest color on your front windows. Most cops don't really care about this but it would give them a good cause to pull you over if they see anything suspicious about you or your car.

Bro, just remove the tinted windows. You'll thank me later. You can't get a presidential tint like that on your windshield, you'll get a ticket every single time.
